Coy Allman slugged a two-run homer. Jaden Fabian doubled and scored a run as the Indians held on to beat Garden Spot 8-6 on Friday, April 14, in New Holland. The Spartans' three-run rally in their last at bat cut a comfortable 8-3 lead to 8-6.
Speaking of stopping the bleeding, Brock Hammaker came in and recorded the final two outs. The Spartans had already scored two on a two-run homer. Ryan Speers also hit a home run after Hammaker entered the game.
The 6-foot junior fielded the next two balls that were put in play, recording an assist and a putout.
"Brock Hammaker had a very good night on the mound and at the dish," Hartman said. "We played solid defense and had some timely hitting."
