Derek Nissley is starting his 24th year at Donegal as the Athletic Trainer and his 22nd year teaching in the Fitness and Wellness Department. Along with his teaching and Athletic Trainer positions, he serves as the Assistant Athletic Director.   Prior to coming to Donegal in 2000, he worked at the Somerset Area High School as a Health & Physical Education teacher/Athletic Trainer (1998-199) and for Joyner Sports Medicine (1999-2000) as an Athletic Trainer for the Juniata County School District.

After graduating high school from Donegal, he went to Lock Haven University as a dual major graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a concentration in Athletic Training and a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education.  In 2010, he graduated with his Master of Education in Athletic Management from Millersville University.

Derek lives in Mount Joy with his wife and three children.  His oldest two children have graduated from Donegal and his youngest will be Junior this coming school year.
